Juniper “Junie” Dillon
Junie Dillon was a joyful ray of light who died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 2.5 years old in December 2022. Junie seemed to always be happy, and it mattered deeply to her that those around her were happy, too. Though she could be a sour patch kid, her spunky antics were quickly followed by a smile that was contagious.
Even at a young age, Junie knew exactly who she was. This was clear when she insisted on being Santa Claus for Halloween, hitting the high notes in “Wrecking Ball” or insisting that “Hey Jude” was actually, “Hey Junie.”
We remember Junie for her joy, silliness, and deep care for her family and friends. She was struck by others’ pain and worked hard to console them and make them “appy.” It is in this same vein that Junie’s mom founded Junie’s Place in hopes of helping friends through the pain of grief.
“Remember to let her into your heart, then you can start to make it better.”

Junie's Momma, Clinical Psychologist, & President
Dr. Kristen Dillon is a clinical psychologist with over ten years of experience specializing in grief, family therapy, life-limiting illness, and end of life.
After her daughter Junie's death, Kristen was struck by the difficulty of accessing resources and grief support services for herself, her other young daughter, and the rest of her family. In spite of her background in mental health, Kristen found accessing care unnavigable, and she knew others must struggle just the same.
Guided by the pain of her own grief and traumatic loss, and grounded in her professional experience, Kristen founded Junie's Place in order to support others who experience the tragic loss of a child or loss of a pregnancy.
